Impact of extreme maternal age on neonatal outcomes

Background: Pregnancies at extreme ages of reproductive life are considered to be high risk for mother and neonate. The aim the study was determine neonatal risks associated with maternal age.Methods: A retrospective cohort conducted Befelatanana Maternity covering period from 1 January 31 December 2018. Data collected neonate’s medical files.Results: Of 789 neonates mothers age included, 64.7% were under 18, 35.3% aged 40 over. They compared 519 20-30.
